About the station
Guiyang North is the high-speed hub for Guizhou province and one of the busiest stations in south-west China, handling G and D trains on the Shanghai–Kunming and Guiyang–Guangzhou lines.
The station is large and modern, with a very wide concourse and clear bilingual signage. It is also the station most visitors use, because almost all long-distance high-speed journeys to and from Guizhou pass through here.
From here you can reach Kaili, Zunyi, Anshun, Guilin, Guangzhou, Kunming and Chongqing directly on high-speed services.
Getting to and from Guiyang
Metro Line 1 connects to Guiyang station and the city centre. The station is on the northern edge of the city.
Allow fifteen to twenty minutes for the walk from metro to departure hall, and more on a holiday.
What catches travellers out here
- Guiyang North and Guiyang station are different buildings. The high-speed network is here, not at the older station.
- The station is big enough that the departure board matters more than the signs — find your train number first, then the waiting area.
