About the station

Zunyi is known internationally as the site of the 1935 conference that reshaped the Chinese Communist Party’s leadership, and the conference site in the old town is the main reason people visit.

The station serves conventional trains; Zunyi South handles high-speed services on the Chongqing–Guiyang line. They are separate stations.

The city is also the centre of Guizhou’s famous liquor industry, and the old town has been restored around the conference site.

Getting to and from Zunyi

Buses and taxis connect the station to the old town and the city centre. Distances are short.

For high-speed connections, Zunyi South is the station to use, and it is a different location from this one.

What catches travellers out here

  • Zunyi and Zunyi South are different stations. Chinese naming adds a character, English naming is easier to miss.
  • The conference site area is busy with domestic tour groups. Early morning is noticeably calmer.

Before you travel

Tickets are issued against your passport and there is no paper ticket to collect for most domestic services. Read the booking guide if this is your first Chinese train, or the seat class guide if you are choosing between a hard sleeper and a soft sleeper. For the station itself, the general station guide explains how gates and boarding work at any Chinese station.

Station details are compiled from published railway information and are checked periodically. Facilities, station layouts and access arrangements can change — confirm anything critical locally before you travel.
